Meanwhile, back at the ranch...

It's been a goodly long while since I got a spare moment to add to the blog. This is a good thing, in a way, since life has been rich with experience and fun over the last...errr...three MONTHS since I posted any pictures. The hard drive is chock full of new photos, as removable media has really come down in price and we bought a couple of 2 gig SD cards, meaning that one sits in the camera at all times ready to absorb random snapshots of life here.

Rather than trying to get everyone back up to speed with where family life is at with us, I've decided to do a bunch of thematic posts showing some of our fun outings. Bear with me.

Our family clamoring for copies of these photos; they're all from a Yuppie Hobby Farm down between Oakville and Milton. It makes me wonder that a lot of kids down in the GTA are getting their first "exposure" to a farm in this sterilized, manure-free, piped-in-music sort of environment. It's still tons of fun for the kids, and free admission to boot, but where are the smelly pigs? Where's the bloody chicken-neck chopping block? Where are the hailstone-ruined fields of corn?

Maybe back behind the food court and quaint-gift-store?

The best photo of the bunch was probably this one. And it's essentially unposed...which appears to be the key with Fionna these days. Don't even ASK us how it's going trying to get an "acceptable" passport photo for Fionna in these post-911 Homeland MumboJumbo world. We've tried three times, and no go. I wonder if they will accept a photo of her done while she's asleep? She's either grinning like a fool or trying to hide her face when the camera comes out. There's no in-between. Thus, no passport photo. We have to content ourselves with this:

Out back of the farm, there were Massive Bales of Hay surrounding a Massive Pit of Hay and a Somewhat Large Maze of Hay Bales. Behold.

In case you didn't believe what I said about this being a Fake Farm, take a gander at THIS:

(It's not milk that comes out. It's water. I think a lot of the kids drink it.)

And here's a picture of Grandpa Riley trying to teach Fionna about farm engineering.

And finally, in case you were wondering that we went and lost Abigail in a haystack somewhere, here she is, in the one photo where she isn't asleep.
